For those of you blessed (or cursed) with e-mail's, we put out an e-mail on Thursday evenings giving the flying prospects for the coming weekend. If you would like to be included on this e-mail list, please let us know by contacting our chairman Charlie Richardson by forwarding your E-mail address to him. You do not need to be a member to be included on this list. Whether or not you get the e-mail's, the regular routine has become to phone Roger, our chief Aerotow coach on FRIDAY to say if and when you want to fly that weekend. Chaimans Letter 23/25th August Last Saturday saw a number of us out as it was the only flyable day of the bank holiday weekend. Despite overdeveloping early on there were patches of light lift through most of the afternoon and a few people had a bit of a play although it was a struggle to get near cloudbase. This weekend currently looks flyable on Saturday, probably too wet and windy on Sunday. It also looks flyable tomorrow (Friday) as the centre of a small high moves over us, although the forecasts suggest that there will be a fair amount of cloud. If you are interested in flying tomorrow please let Roger or myself know asap today. Roger needs notice. ==== Also please note that Richard Hunt is planning a day on pilot lectures and pilot exam o n Saturday November 8th as described below: the Suffolk club are holding a day of "Pilot" lectures followed by a the "Pilot" exam. It will be at Rougham Airfield (small chance may change to Tibbenham) and expect to be £10 / head which will go direct to Rougham Tower museum as a donation. The approximate plan is: Weather lecture As always please contact Roger on 01842 753713, or on his mobile 07788 864621 or call me on ho:0208 505 5817 mo:07990 568191 to let us know of your plans and to check the status. To give us time to plan please call on Thursday or Friday night at the latest if you can. Call again before 9.00am on Saturday or Sunday if it turns out to be flyable and you have already let us know you are interested. If you want to fly midweek give Roger at least a day's notice and expect to be asked to organise a crew yourself. Leave a message if you cannot get through.
